Terms of use and sale

What romy does, what it does not promise, and how credits work.

This is a courtesy translation. romy is sold from France under French law, and the French version is the one that legally applies.

Scope

These terms govern use of the romy service, published by Aurélien Hubert, and the sale of credits — plans and packs — on romy.app and in the iOS app. Using it means accepting them.

romy is in beta. The service may change, and features may be added or removed.

Your account

Accounts are personal, created by signing in with a supported provider or with a sign-in link sent to your email address. You are responsible for the content you upload.

You agree to upload only photographs you have the right to use, and not to submit unlawful content or content infringing anyone's rights.

How your photo is processed

To produce a render, romy sends your room photo to a Google artificial-intelligence model (the Gemini API), which analyses it and then generates the image. This happens as soon as you upload the photo — romy has it analysed to identify what the room contains, without waiting for you to start a generation — and again on every generation. It is the service itself: there is no version of romy that does without it. By creating an account you accept that this is how it works.

Under the paid terms romy uses, Google does not use your photo to train its models and keeps a copy only for a limited period, solely to detect abusive use. Google may process or cache it in the United States, and in any other country where it or its agents maintain facilities. The detail is in the privacy policy.

romy keeping your photo to improve the service is a separate question: that is optional, off by default, and set room by room.

What romy produces, and what it does not guarantee

romy picks real products from a verified catalogue, then generates an image of your room containing them. That image is a visual PROPOSAL, not a photograph of the result you will get.

The render is an interpretation: patterns, textures, shades and proportions may differ from the real product. We measure that gap internally and deliberately refuse to promise exact fidelity — a service that promises it is lying to you.

Before buying, check the brand's own product page: it is authoritative on price, dimensions, availability and lead times.

Buying from brands

romy sells no furniture and no paint. Shopping-list links lead to the brands' own shops, which are the sole parties to any resulting sale.

romy may earn an affiliate commission on some of those links. This does not change the price you pay.

Credits, plans and packs

One concept generation costs 100 credits, whatever renovation level you choose. Changing part of an existing render costs 50. Credits come from a monthly plan, or from a pack bought once.

The monthly plans:

  • Pro — €29 a month for 1500 credits
  • Studio — €49 a month for 3000 credits
  • Agency — €99 a month for 10000 credits

A plan renews and is charged automatically every month until you cancel it. Its credits start afresh with every paid period: unused plan credits do not carry over to the next month, and they go when the plan ends. You are told so here, on the pricing page and on the purchase screen, before any payment.

The packs, bought once:

  • Starter — €9 for 300 credits
  • Room — €49 for 2000 credits
  • Home — €99 for 5000 credits

Displayed prices include all taxes: nothing is added at payment.

Pack credits never expire. When you generate, plan credits are spent first, then pack credits. No credit is transferable or redeemable for money.

One plan per account, whichever way it was bought. A plan bought in the iOS app is billed by Apple and is managed — changing plan or cancelling — from your Apple ID settings; the app takes you there. A plan bought on the website is billed by Stripe and is managed from your account page, which opens Stripe's billing portal. After a plan change, the new plan's credits are granted at the start of the next paid period.

If a generation fails on our side, the credits are automatically returned.

Payment and delivery

On the website, payment is by card through Stripe; in the iOS app it is taken by Apple through the App Store. Either way, romy never sees or stores your card details.

A plan is charged at every monthly renewal, through the channel it was bought in, until it is cancelled.

Delivery is immediate: credits are added to your balance as soon as payment is confirmed, and at every renewal for a plan. If your balance has not moved within a few minutes, write to us.

The right of withdrawal and refunds are set out in our refund policy, published on this site at romy.app/legal/refunds.

By buying in the iOS app, you agree that, if you ask Apple for a refund, we confirm to Apple that the purchase was delivered to you. You can object at any time by writing to us.

Liability

romy is provided as is. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability or fitness of the result for any particular purpose.

Our liability is limited to the amount you actually paid over the last twelve months. Nothing here limits the rights French law gives you as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. The French version prevails; any translation is provided for information only.

In case of a dispute you may use a consumer mediator free of charge before going to court.
